Feel the sea breezes and take in ocean views from high above spectacular Baie Rouge and Marigot Bay at Amandara. Perched on a hillside above the water, this luxury St. Martin vacation rental commands panoramic views from its expansive terrace and bright, open-plan interiors, but is located just a short drive from some of the island’s best beaches, boutiques and restaurants. Five bedrooms, including a separate apartment suite, let a family on holiday spread out or a couple on honeymoon steal away.
Unlike many beach homes, Amandara sits on gated grounds large enough for a volleyball and bocce court. But the focal point is the terrace that stretches out in front of the house facing the water, featuring a mosaic-lined infinity pool, a row of inviting sun loungers, bar seating in front of the kitchen window and a pergola-covered al-fresco dining area. If you’ll be entertaining, host guests with ease in the downstairs lounge area, which has a bar, foosball and ping-pong tables and a vinyl record collection you can play; if you just want to relax, head for the villa’s massage room.
Low-slung and clean-lined, the villa makes a sleek, minimalist statement. With mid century-inspired furnishings, vaulted ceilings and a nearly full-length glass wall that slides to open the space to the terrace, the great room is a bright, stylish space that maximizes the ocean views. Enjoy the softness of the charcoal sectional and plush Beni Ourain-style rug in the sitting area, and revel in having everyone together in cheery white wicker seating around the dining table. Not only does the fully equipped kitchen have a breakfast bar, it has a convenient takeout-style window that opens to bar seating on the terrace.
The five bedrooms, each with an en-suite bathroom, are their own quiet, private retreats within the villa. There are four on the main level, including two with king beds and al-fresco bathtubs and showers, one with a queen bed and one with two twin beds. The fifth suite, on the lower level, has a king bed in addition to its own kitchenette and lounge area on the terrace.
