Within a vineyard of 25 hectares large, this impressive country house called Travertino is built upon a hill, ideally facing south and offers a wide view of the surrounding green hills. Situated in Tuscany, yet close to the border of Umbria, an area recognized for the great outdoors, an ideal area for vineyards, where the extensive low hills allow to have a view of the beautiful landscape of kilometres wide.

The nearest town to Travertino is Sarteano (4700 habitants), following Chiusi, from where you can take the train and have trips to Florence, Rome and Orvieto.

The villa, which was built in 1700, now has created a new life in a contemporary way.

“Travertine” is a famous local stone, which indicated the structure of the whole property. In fact, the architectural work of this villa is designed to enhance this material, leaving the completely bare walls covered with travertine and furnished the rooms with few pieces of design furniture. The large windows without curtains are made to represent the scenario of the countryside. In such a way that a tree, a branch and a hill have a full meaning within the geometric image of the villa.

The kitchen is wonderfully spacious and fully equipped, ideally for cooking lovers.

Next to the villa, there are two guest houses and a third building with a large living room, bar and event space, in order to create a sense of being in a “village”. Two large tanks on the grounds give a relaxing sound of water and divide the villa and the guest houses in an elegant way. Under one of the tank, there is a gym, partially open to the outdoors and a beautiful private spa.

The third building, normally closed, is ideal for events, birthdays or small weddings. It offers a pizza oven, a large stone built BBQ, bar and a room to host wine tasting or other events.

The large infinity pool made of Travertine stone is surrounded by nature and situated between vineyard and olive groves. There is also a lounging area at the pool.

For sports lovers, the villa offers fitness equipment, bicycles and a bocce court. In front of the villa, there is a shaded outdoor area for dining, as well as other areas decorated in order to relax in comfort.

Siena, Arezzo, Perugia and Orvieto, the most famous historical cities of interest are easily accessible from this villa.

During the low season, it is highly recommendable to visit the thermal spas of San Casciano dei Bagni and Bagni di San Filippo, both on a maximum 30-minute drive away.
