The villa dates back to the 16th century and has an illustrious history as the residence of the most important family in Lucca. Over time, it passed through many hands and is now in the care of the present owners who have lovingly and respectfully restored it with great care to preserve its historic features, delicately designed frescoed ceilings and walls. Furnished with elegant antiques, luxurious fabrics, and rich artwork, the villa has been outfitted to 21st-century standards, including air-conditioning, all bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, an elevator, good communications, and music systems.

Villa Daniella offers 11-bedroom suites, which are frescoed and luxuriously furnished with period pieces. The rooms are large and airy, overlooking the breathtaking gardens. All the rooms have heating and air conditioning which can be regulated individually, mosquito netting, safe, free wireless Internet connection, fridge bar, TV with CD player, and satellite channel reception. Mosquito screens are installed at all windows. Plush swimming pool towels, fine bed linens, beautiful bathroom towel sets, and soft terry robes and slippers are provided. All the rooms can be reached both by a comfortable lift and by easy stairs.

The beautifully designed classic gardens with perfect lines and symmetry, bordered by bursts of rose bushes, are indeed a work of art. The swimming pool (14m x 6.5m) next to the gardens is surrounded by a bay hedge and a rose-draped pergola, a favorite for summer lunches or dinners. Around the fenced pool are deck areas as well as a lawn border with plenty of sun lounges, deck chairs, and umbrellas where guests can enjoy the beauty of the outdoor setting, swimming, children playing, soaking up the sun, or a quiet corner of the gardens to read.

It is just a stone’s throw from the fortified city of Lucca, a few kilometers from Pisa, and the sunny seaside town of Viareggio.
