It’s a fabulous spot to entertain, superbly equipped and enviably secluded, whether you’re working on your serve on the private tennis court or working on your tan by the statement T-shaped swimming pool.

The hillside position gives all the glorious sea and countryside views you would expect from a house of this calibre, yet it’s not visible from the sea; a nod to the olden days of pirate raids when a house as fine as this one would have been a very tempting target.

The elegant, contemporary design is high style and high tech, softened by tawny Lefkada stone, a botanical herb garden, and 500 m2 of private vineyard. Despite all the smart tech and stylish décor, this villa feels reassuringly solid, inspired perhaps by the architecture of nearby Kalamitsi village, a short drive away, which is one of the oldest settlements on Lefkada. The atmosphere of this picturesque village is peaceful and totally unspoilt, and we recommend taking some time to wander its quaint alleyways and peek into the sombre old churches, while you decide which of the many tavernas to choose for dinner.

Another wonderful dinner option is Exanthia village (15 minutes by car), where you can watch (or join!) the paragliders taking off and enjoy one of the spectacular sunsets this west coast is so famous for. If you’re a fan of golden hour, Kathisma Beach, with its white sand and cliffs, is also a notable sunset spot. Whether you opt to spend the week at base making the most of everything your villa has to offer or take advantage of the mid-island location to do some touring around, we’re confident that Alessia will not be disappointed.
