On a clear day, from the estate’s highest point, the towers of Siena can be seen glistening in the sunlight. San Luigi is situated within the historic Castelnuovo Tancredi estate, which dates back to 1315. Indoor Spaces

The ground floor of Villa San Luigi is thoughtfully designed for luxury Tuscan villa holidays, providing plenty of options for both entertaining and enjoying personal space. The main villa features a beautiful sitting room with French windows opening onto a private terrace with views to the west. Elegantly furnished and connected to the kitchen and dining areas, the sitting room boasts a large travertine fireplace perfect for winter evenings. Il Forno, which includes part of the original oven, serves as a versatile space that can be used as a TV room, library, or additional guest room.

The studio is stocked with extra reading materials and a laptop PC for guests to use. Directly below the studio, there is a stunning wine cellar filled with an array of the region’s most renowned wines, enhancing your luxury villa rental in Tuscany, Italy.

Outdoor Spaces

The magnificent travertine pool with an infinity-edge overlooks the private lake below San Luigi, with far-reaching views across to the Crete Senesi and Val D’Orcia.

The expansive terrace is furnished with sun-loungers and parasols to provide shade from the hot Tuscan summer sun, whilst the bathroom beneath the pool houses a large rainfall shower for cooling down. Adjacent to the pool terrace is a lounge area with a pergola and comfortable seating for those who prefer a bit more shade. The exceptional external kitchen is equipped with everything you will need to rustle up a poolside lunch or gourmet sunset dinner including a Forno (pizza oven) and gas-fired barbeque, two-ring burner, dishwasher, fridge and ice-maker. At night, the lighting, candles and fire-pits turns the pool terrace into a magical place to dine, enjoy an aperitivo, or simply gaze at the stars.

The gardens at San Luigi have been lovingly created to compliment the layout of the Estate and the local landscape of undulating hills, Cypresses and Holm Oaks.

Numerous seating areas have been created within the gardens to provide ample opportunity to enjoy the panoramic views.
At the front of the Villa the more formal Italian garden, planted with buxus, roses and rosemary echoes the symmetry of the architecture. Around the pool and outer edges of the garden, the planting creates a sense of fusion between the garden and the natural landscape. To the west of the Estate an olive grove has been established and to the rear of the Villa, you will find San Luigi’s very own vegetable garden.

The hand crafted wrought iron gazebo, designed and produced by Biagiotti of Pienza, provides a unique space to relax amongst the formal Italian garden taking in the panoramic views.

The terrace between the ‘A wing’ and the pool is complimented by more exotic planting, whilst the lawn provides an opportunity for a game of croquet.
