This traditional Provencal villa is a short walk from Eygalieres, where quiet cafes and Michelin starred restaurants line the small street of the ‘centre de village’. Saint Remy de Provence is located within 10mn driving distance and Avignon is 30mn away.
 
Other nearby sites include thePont du Gard & historic Uzès (45min); Luberon Valley hilltop villages of Gordes, Ménerbes, Roussillon (30-40min); Côte du Rhône vineyards, Châteauneuf-du-Pape (45min); Aix-en-Provence & Marseille (including airport) within 1 hour.

Description
 
The mas (house) is 300m2 set on 1.2 hectare of land. The access to the mas is through a private 100-metre-long lane, bordered with olive trees, pine trees, almond trees and cypresses: the scenery is now set up. At the other end of the lane the gate stands imposingly in the middle of pine trees, surrounded with holm oaks. The gate is equipped with an interphone, video, and cameras to announce your arrival.
 
This property is situated with a dominating view of the village, the Mount Ventoux and the valley between the Durance and the Rhône. The scrubland known as garrigue is all around you, the sweet smells of thyme, rosemary, brooms and clusters of mauve cysts flowers may overwhelm you. On a 12.000 m2 plot of land planted with trees, cypresses, olive trees and holm oaks, you are in the center of the Alpilles, a place of serenity
 
The HEATED swimming pool 14 m x 7, (depth 1,20m to 2,10m) with electric cover is surrounded by big terraces and dominates its surroundings. There is lots of teak furniture and a small pool house with toilets and shower nearby. A romantic gypsy caravan for a nap can be opened on request. 11 bikes for adults and children are at your disposal. Tennis table.  New tennis court with small fridge for cool drinks and with charming view of the village.
 
The house can accommodate 12 persons with optimum comfort, 10 adults and 4 children, whatever the season. Central heating, several big fireplaces, air-conditioning, satellite television, multiple television lines, fax terminal, high-speed  Internet and Wi-Fi, alarm, camera-fitted gate ensure your comfort and security.
 
The Provencal dining room-kitchen is spacious, fully equipped for maximum comfort a well-stocked big dresser, a table that seats 12 to 14 persons and big fireplace.  Outside are two terraces with tables that can seat 24 people and Gas BBQ.
 
The kitchen has Lacanche gas cooker, American-style fridge, dishwasher, microwave, basic household appliances, complete kitchen accessories, a great deal of crockery and place settings (enough for receptions of more than 50 persons), television, hi-fi system, Wi-Fi and a Wine cellar.
 
The sitting room is located in the centre of the house with terraces on the south and north sides, and a view of the village on one side and of the Alpilles on the other. There are vaulted ceilings, stone-built walls, a monumental fireplace, library, hi-fi system, flat-screen television 110 cm with Sky TV satellite, DVD, settees and armchairs. It features a very well-decorated ensemble, centre light, paintings, curtains and furniture made in Provence.
 
In the basement there is an air-conditioned sitting room of 40 m2, equipped as a cinema (240 mm screen) room or night-club, which could easily be converted into a meeting room with video conferencing  accommodating more than 20 persons.  A mechanical air circulation and, air-conditioning system and, under floor heating give all modern comforts to this room whatever the activity or season. Gaveau piano, 2d satellite TV with Canal Sat. There is a bar and 2 nice Provencal sofas.
 
5 air-conditioned bedrooms with full ensuite bathrooms.  The bedrooms are separate, divided over the 2 levels in the main house  and the two small stone cottages surrounding it. Both small cottages are separate and, in addition to the garden-level bedroom opening out onto small shaded terraces, each has a fitted-out mezzanine floor with 2 single beds in 90/200. There are telephones in all rooms, satellite television and fireplace in bedroom 2.
 
On the ground floor there is a laundry with tumble dryer, big washing machine, iron.
 
Technical: Switchboard, 2 outdoor lines, 1 fax terminal, telephone links between rooms, interphone, Internet ADSL 1 Mega in WIFI, Alarm. Gas central heating, under floor heating, heater, heated towel rail in the bathrooms, instantaneous hot water to all sinks and baths in the Farmhouse. Satellite television is available in the sitting room, the kitchen and bedroom 2 and in the basement.

Bedroom N°1 « La Galinette ». View of the pines and the village. The coolest in summer and in the shade, it is in the centre of the farmhouse. It is accessible to reduced-mobility persons. A/C.  Queen size double bed 160x200 with ensuite bathroom with tub, bidet, basin and separate toilets. 

Upper floor
 
Bedroom N°2 « La Fénière »: King size double bed 180x200 with ensuite bathroom with bathtub, separate shower, 2 basins and toilet, a refined stylish decoration with Provencal coolness.. A terrace of 20 m2 overlooks its surrounding view of the Alpilles. In summertime, very sunny, you have to close the shutters. Set back on the upper floor, behind a big old door, it is completely private and quiet.  Fireplace, TV,  safe.
 

Bedroom N° 3 « La Mistraou »: this is the most original of them all. The access to the bedroom is through a walkway overhanging the sitting room.  There is an indoor balcony over the sitting room and an outdoor balcony on the south side with a view of the garden and of the Alpilles. TV, fireplace,Queen size double bed in 160x200 with ensuite bathroom with bathtub(hand shower), separate shower, 2 basins and toilet, features Provence-style decoration and a lovely view of the village and Mount Ventoux.

Bedroom N° 4 « L’Esquirou ».Outside the main house, very separate, in the garden with a view of the pines and the little fountain square. A terrace of 10 m2, well sheltered, is on the fringe of the forest and close to the swimming pool. Queen size double bed 160x200 and a mezzanine floor with two beds in 90x200 for two small children with ensuite bathroom with shower and toilet and a quite well-equipped small kitchen(toaster, hob). This cottage is ideal for a nanny.

Bedroom N°5 « L’Oustaou ». Outside the main house, very much detached, in the garden, with a view of the pines and the little fountain square. The main house is quite near, but here you are in the Mediterranean scrubland, very much at one with nature. A well-situated terrace of 10 m2 is located near the forest and the pinewood. Queen size double bed 160x200 and a mezzanine floor and two beds 90x200 for two kids or teen agers witn ensuite bathroom with shower, and separate toilet.

Weekends, wedding celebrations, etc. are possible. The house is available the whole year round. Entirely refurbished, it offers an exceptional Level of comfort in all seasons, in winter as in summer. The materials used for its refurbishment are old materials. The architecture and the decoration are the work of professionals experienced in local materials and techniques. The Provence decoration, refined and authentic, creates the atmosphere; whitewash and sand roughcasts, baked clay floors, linen fabrics. The Baux stone is everywhere and sets the tone. The bedrooms are little slumbering worlds of gentleness because of the silence of the place and are pervaded with the fragrances of pine trees and rosemary which rule over the surrounding scrubland.
 

Welcome basket, first grocery delivery and bath items provided for free.  Further shopping and cooking are possible on request.

2 weeks are a minimum in high season. At last minute one week is accepted.

At the reception there are the products of the regions - olive oil, vinegar, wine - made ​​at Jean-Claude

Services

 • Linen changed once per week on Saturday.
 • Maid service included 6h per day on 5 days per week. More can be arranged if required.
 • Upkeep of the garden and of the swimming pool assured.

 • Housekeeper: Josephine can do more cleaning hours at 15 euros/h even on Sunday. She also can prepare Provencal meals on request at 30/35 euros per pers (daube, poulet        basquaise, terrine de saumon, ratatouille, champignons..)

 • Gypsy caravan during the summer time for 750 euros per week (there is a comfortable double bed inside) on request in advance
