At a glance
 
This is perhaps the most amazing house in the famous village of Gordes, one of the most beautiful hilltop villages in France.  It offers panoramic views, a heated swimming pool and five bedrooms with ensuite baths and is full of charm and character.
 
For art lovers this is a must see property. The walk into the village is a two minute stroll through history and cobbled streets, with a potential sketch or painting wherever you look.
 
An extraordinary feature is the garden with its pool.  Once you are settled in the shade of the olive tree, cooking in the summer kitchen or soaking up the sun by the pool you won’t want to leave...this really is an enchanting place.

Location
 
Gordes is located one hour from the Marseilles International airport and 30 minutes from  Avignon which has a TGV station and small airport with flights throughout Europe.

Cavaillon is 15 minutes away and offers supermarkets shops,services and access to the motorway system. 

Coustellet is the closest commercial center with a supermarket, shops and a wonderful farmers’ market on Sunday morning.

Description
 
This superbly restored dry stone 3 level village house; built into the cliffs of Gordes faces directly out to the Luberon valley, a landscape of green, lavender and ocher.  The house boasts two very large and comfortable terraces that guarantee unobstructed views.
 
This property was renovated and completely redesigned by a couple of renown art dealers who respected the traditional construction,  using local limestone for the flagstone floors, the carved twisting  staircase and the supporting arches.  The renovation alone is a work of art.
 
The house has 3 levels, plus the penthouse.
 
The first floor (entrance level) has an open plan  lounge with fireplace and many sofas, a dining area, kitchen, bathroom and the dining terrace.
 
There is a professional kitchen, with stainless steel appliances; oven, electric oven and gas rings. It is equipped with a large double fridge with ice maker.  With microwave, blender, mixer; excellent sets of knives and pans, it is a real chef’s delight.
 
This level has direct access to the garden and pool.
 
One  level up the stone steps is  a large TV salon with sofas, fireplace and table foot ball.  There is a lounge/dining /kitchen area and the larger dining terrace. From the terrace is a door providing access to the street.
 
Down a few more steps is the laundry ( iron and ironing board, dryer, washer).
 
The bottom level has the wine cellar (at the guests' disposal,  inventory with listed prices).
 
There is a security system and one telephone per level.
 
There are 7 toilets in total, one in each bathroom, one on the main entrance-living area and one out in the garden.
 
OUTSIDE FEATURES
 
Private parking space for 3 cars is available in front of the house.
 
Adjacent the parking  is a closed shed containing 3 adult sized bicycles. Tennis table and Petanque equipment.
 
There are lots of chaises lounges and  tech sun beds on the terraces and around the pool
 
The highlights of the 400 m2 of gardens include the heated swimming pool (8m x 4m with electric cover), garden shower and pool house with fully equipped kitchen and BBQ.

Bedrooms
 
Bedroom 1 - (at the very top of the house) queen size bed with a tub, large shower room and separate bidet and  WC.
 
Bedroom 2 -  A/C master bedroom (Moroccan style) with it’s en suite bathroom (tub, shower, separate WC),
 
Bedroom 3 -  double bedroom with twin beds (or king size bed bedding on request in advance) and en suite bathroom (a tub with shower, WC, bidet)
 
Bedroom 4 - the ‘teenagers’ bedroom with en suite bathroom (tub, shower and WC),
 
Bedroom 5 -  twin beds (king size bed bedding on request in advance), with en suite bathroom, (tub with shower, WC).  This room also has a door that goes straight out to thegarden.

Notes

INCLUDED:
• Personal concierge service at the clients' disposal during their stay.  Linens are changed once per week and towels twice.
•Hair dryer in each bathroom
• Cleaning: 3 hours per day x 6 days per week is included for 6 People including laundry of the weekly linens. Final cleaning is included. If more than 6 people in the house it is mandatory to add more cleaning hours : 156 euros up to 8 pers or 312 euros up to 10 pers.
• There is no extra charge for the pool heating from June to the end of September or the Air conditioning, electricity, gas or central heating.
• There is a private, shaded petanque court nearby. An abdomen exerciser as well as hand weights and a step bench are available for exercising

IMPORTANT: Security deposit : 10,000 euros requested with the final payment (because of many art works) + CC authorization.
 

A 15% discount for one week, 20% for two weeks or more is offered from October through March
 
The owners are open to discussing a longer term stay with reduced rate.
 
Remember: the owners want a 24 hour period between each rental.
