The Borghese Estate of Montevettolini, a grand mansion built in the XVI century, was once one of the 12 somptuous hunting residences of the Granduke Ferdinando I, grandson of the famous Lorenzo de’ Medici il Magnifico. Built on a hill of olive trees and vineyard overlooking the ValdiNievole valley, next to the medioeval village of Montevettolini, the villa has retained its original architectural beauty and serenity. The Villa has been carefully restored and improved upon by the present owner, the prince Borghese, whose family bought the property more than 200 years ago. All the rooms are decorated with antique furniture and paintings, venetian glass chandeliers and persian carpets, while all the bathrooms have been recently renewed.

Guests will feel fortunate to be able to reside in such a unique and truly special atmosphere while enjoying the enchanting Italian garden, the beautiful park, the numerous bedrooms and the large swimming pool. The villa is 40 minutes by car from the international airports of Florence and Pisa and ten minutes from the railway station of Montecatini. Trains to Florence and Pisa leave every hour.

The Villa is available for private and exclusive rentals from a minimum of 1 week all year round. The house is composed of 7 master bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, various large living areas, an antique library / reading room. On the ground floor is the kitchen with the indoor dining room with a fireplace that seats 20 people. Within the house there is a private chapel and pool room.

On the grounds there is a swimming pool with changing areas and a kitchenette. 2 outdoor seating areas for lunches and dinners, one by the pool one in front of the main house.

The Staff

The staff available all year round is composed by a housekeeper, a cook, a butler, a gardener, a maid.

All food, beverages, laundry services and extra maids required are billed separately.

There is satellite dish for tv, fax machine, PC station, Wi-Fi connection. All rooms have flat screen tv with cd/dvd player and iPod sound dock. In the beautiful garden there is a patio for dining outdoors. Near the swimming pool, that measures 18 mt. x 7mt., there is a ping pong table, a small kitchen for pool snacks and a patio for open air lunches.

The thermal town of Montecatini is just a few kilometres away by car (10 minutes). Other activities in the area include bike rides,

horseback riding excursions, tennis and golf.

In addition to the country-life there are several remarkable art towns in the area like Firenze,Pisa and Lucca all at approximately 40

minutes distance. Close by there are also some beautiful and medieval towns like Pietrasanta, with its marble quarry. Vinci, home

town to Leonardo Da Vinci, and Montecatini Alto, know for its thermal curative waters and remarkable food.

Forte Dei Marmi:

If you prefer the seaside to the rolling hills the Versilia area where Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi are. World resound Forte De

Marmi, with its beautiful 18 century fort located in the city centre has stunning beaches, restaurants and a great night life.

Wine Tasting:

With advance notice, special tours can be organized to view public and private properties in the area which is home to other unique

properties and gardens. Also, being in close proximity to the wine region, exclusive tours to vineyards and wine tasting can be

organized. In the vicinity is the Chianti region famous for its fabulous wine. Producers like Brunello di Montalcino,Tignanello,

Sassicaia and Guado al Tasso are all within max. an hour drive.

The SPA area

There are various spa’s in the neighbouring town but The Grotta Giusti spa is unique in the world and should not be missed, also a

5 minutes drive. They have incredible natural caves and a full range of massages and beauty treatments.

Tennis

There are several tennis courts nearby approximately 10 minutes drive from the estate.

Montecatini Golf Club 

The remarkable golf club, 18 holes, is just alongside the estate and is open all year round.
