Built in 2008, Maurice was the first of the few privately owned luxurious chalets in Zermatt. Chalet Maurice is accessed via a private funicular railway through the mountain, and located in the exclusive Petit Village area of Zermatt.
Sleek design with contemporary feel
This free standing property, designed by renowned architect Magali de Tscharner, is set into the mountainside with a magnificent view of the soaring Matterhorn. It offers a comfortable contemporary feel using a combination of local materials, natural fabrics and simple elegant lines.
Chalet Maurice is filled with sumptuous fabrics and rich wood in palates of charcoal grey, cream and white, all combining to form a luxurious and chic alpine retreat. The spacious open plan living area and dining room create a feeling of comfort and light. Large south-facing balconies on each floor, offer the perfect spot to sunbathe and soak up the breathtaking views.
6 spacious en-suite bedrooms
The chalet sleeps 12 guests in 6 large en-suite bedrooms spread over multiple floors. 5 of the 6 bedrooms all feature private balcony / terrace overlooking the Matterhorn and surrounding mountain terrain. The master suite is spread over the entire top floor, featuring an open fire, a double height pitched ceiling and floor to ceiling windows.
Each en-suite bathroom is equipped with a bath or shower, dazzling chrome accessories, towel heaters and large walled mirrors. Grey charcoal tile finishings create a smooth aesthetic and real ‘James Bond’ feel.

At Chalet Maurice you can enjoy a range of wellness facilities to help you unwind. Featuring a sauna, dedicated shower & WC, massage room and outdoor terrace with loungers and Jacuzzi. Structure your meals anywhere from 1 to 7 courses – your private chef will provide you with a new menu every single day. If anyone in your group has allergies or dietary preferences these will be effortlessly catered to. A separate menu for children can also be created if so desired. With our vast supplier network Elysian Collection only uses the best quality, locally sourced and organic where possible, fresh ingredients. Enjoy an equally lavish spread for your daily Elysian breakfast. Get the metabolism ticking with breads, pastries, yoghurts, cereals, cured meats, fish, cheeses and an array of hot cooked options.
Chalet housekeeping AM & PM
Start and finish each day in a clean, comfortable environment. Elysian Collection provides a 7-star experience which includes twice-daily housekeeping throughout the entire chalet. Inside bedrooms your staff will tidy your belongings, fold your clothes, make your bed, clean and polish your bathroom, and ensure that every inch of your personal space is kept spotless. During the evening we’ll also turndown your bed covers, draw your blinds and leave a gift to keep you feeling spoiled every single day.
Complete changeover of linen & towels
Attention to detail is important to Elysian Collection, so during your twice-daily housekeeping any towels or linen that needs changing will be attended to. However, half way through your stay we also provide a complete towel and linen change to maintain a pristine living environment. Enjoy the addition of separate towelling in wellness, sauna and Jacuzzi areas to uphold hygienic practices at all times.
Discrete ski chalet service
We select experienced hospitality staff who are also put through an intensive butler training program at the beginning of every season. This means you receive the highest levels of personal service with upmost discretion. Chalet staff will be behind the scenes when not directly interacting with your group to help respect your privacy. From making cocktails, organising massages to preparing a beautifully laid table; your chalet staff are at the ready to answer your requests.
Personal shopping
Our guests think of our chalets as their home away from home. As such, there may be particular foods, drinks, or other goods they like to have available. Elysian Collection has developed a large supplier network and can try to organise any specific items you would like to have available during your stay. If you would like an authentic Swiss experience or something a little different, ask chalet staff about locally themed food, beverages and activities.

Summer and winter equipment preparation
Upon arrival your chalet staff will take you for any equipment fittings required from our partner suppliers around town. Our suppliers guarantee newly serviced and top quality gear from hiking tools, mountain bikes, skis, snowboards, snow shoes, and more. Each morning your staff will prepare equipment outside the chalet; and each afternoon they will stow all equipment back inside the chalet. Enjoy the luxury of leaving everything at the door and making the most of your time to unwind.
Daily snacks and seasonal essentials
The experience is not like every other luxury ski chalet Switzerland has to offer. We make sure you’re prepared in all kinds of conditions. Weather can change quickly from hot or sunny to cold or snowy, so stock up with essentials like the sunscreens and hand warmers provided for you on your way out the door. For those moments when a little boost of energy is needed, we also provide a homemade snack bag with items containing natural sugars, proteins and carbohydrates to help you get through the day.
Be on your way up the mountain within 3 minutes
In Chalet Maurice, Zermatt is within a convenient proximity for all kinds of activities. Being situated in the exclusive, recently developed area of Petit Village, you can enjoy all the benefits of being close to town, but in a private location.
If skiing or biking then you can enjoy a short 3 minute taxi ride to the nearest lift. Mountain walking trails can be accessed directly from the chalet and for anything else you’re only a short journey away.
Enjoy convenient proximity to Zermatt village
Travelling on foot, it will take between 10 – 15 very scenic minutes to reach the town centre. In an electric taxi this time is reduced to just 3 minutes. No matter whether you’re in the mood for a latte, meal or cocktail; Chalet Maurice is close to everything.
